NBA G-League player, girlfriend arrested after missing woman killed in Las Vegas: Police

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) An NBA G-League Stockton Kings basketball player and his girlfriend were arrested after police found the remains of a missing woman in the Henderson desert. Detectives found that Rodgers was out with friends on Dec. 5 and had a pre-arranged meeting with Sakari Harnden who would bring her boyfriend Chance Comanche.

Police saidRodgers had not been seen or heard from since then and suspected foul play.

Officers obtained evidence to arrest 19-year-old Harnden and 27-year-old Comanche for their connection to the kidnapping and disappearance of Rodgers.

Harnden was arrested in Las Vegas by the Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) and booked into the Clark County Detention Center for kidnapping onDec. 13.

Comanche was arrested by the members of the California FBI Criminal Apprehension Team in Sacramento, California on Dec. 15. He is pending extradition to Nevada for Kidnapping, according to officials.

Based on additional information obtained after the arrest, detectives were able to recover human remains in a desert area in Henderson, Nevada.

The remains were later identified to be of Marayna Rodgers, according to the Clark County Coroner.

The charges for both suspects will be updated to open murder through coordination with the Clark County District Attorney’s office.

The Stockton Kings, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, announced their release of Comanche on Dec. 15.

KSNV reached out to the Stockton Kings and received 'no further comment on this matter,' according to a representative.
