Despite her tremendous fame and success in the world of country, Carrie Underwood’s perpetually smiling face is rarely found within the pages of a tabloid.
But while Carrie may project the image of a bubbly, high-note-hitting blonde, sources say the former American Idol champ is ruthless if you wind up on her bad side, and she’s reportedly been known to hold grudges for several years.
Case in point – sources say Carrie has been feuding with LeAnn Rimes since back in 2006!
Even though Carrie seems so friendly all the time, we suppose we should never be surprised to learn that there’s another person who doesn’t like LeAnn.
The feud between Rimes and Brandi Glanville has been going on for years, and now it seems LeAnn’s reputation as a cheater and homewrecker extends all the way to Nashville:
According to the insider, the feud between Carrie and LeAnn began when LeAnn threw some not-so-subtle shade at Carrie early in her career.
After Carrie won Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2006 CMAs, LeAnn remarked to the press, “To see someone come in and win female vocalist that has been here for a very short time is a little disheartening.”
As you might guess from that remark, it’s been on ever since.
Sources say that just last month Carrie asked to have her dressing room moved away from LeAnn’s while both women were filming the CMA Country Christmas Special.
“LeAnn’s remarks were a slap in the face,” says a source close to Carrie. “She’s waited eight years for an apology and has never received one. Carrie holds grudges.”
But these days, Carrie’s grudge is about more than LeAnn’s 8-year-old diss. Underwood is supposedly disgusted by the relationship between LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian, and she’s been expressing her feelings openly.
“Carrie was disgusted and couldn’t believe she’d destroy a marriage,” the insider claims. “She is very religious and thinks that LeAnn’s appalling homewrecking confirmed everything she’d suspected in the first place.”
Of course, it’s not fair to burden LeAnn with all of the blame in the Eddie situation. It takes two to cheat.
Now, if Carrie wants to hate Rimes for the reality TV trainwreck that was LeAnn & Eddie, that’s something we can totally support.
